The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have established the NSF/FDA Scholar-in-Residence Program at FDA. This program comprises an interagency partnership to investigate scientific and engineering issues concerning emerging trends in medical device technology. This partnership is designed to enable investigators in science, engineering, and computer science to develop research collaborations within the FDA's intramural research environment. This solicitation features three flexible mechanisms for research at the FDA: Principal Investigators at FDA, Postdoctoral Researchers at FDA, and Graduate Students at FDA. For more information, see the NSF website.
NSF is hosting a webinar to provide more information about the program and application process on Friday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m. ET.
This webinar will highlight opportunities for faculty and students in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology interested in applying for this funding. Both NSF and FDA program managers will explain the program solicitation and requirements. Past grantees will share their experiences. Participants will also learn about other research fields (e.g., Bioengineering, Biomaterials, etc.) that are eligible for this funding.
