High School Poster Expo
The BMES 2026 Annual Meeting High School Poster Expo on Saturday, October 24 offers high school students a unique opportunity to present their work to leaders in biomedical engineering. Participants will receive valuable feedback, network with peers, professors, and industry professionals, and if accepted, can also attend scientific and technical sessions.
We encourage all students to apply, especially those from the Orlando area, from BMES High School Student Chapters, and from underrepresented backgrounds.
Posters should be focused specifically on biomedical engineering areas.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
We accept applications from high school students in their junior or senior year by the start of the 2026 Fall semester.
We welcome posters on any topic related to biomedical engineering — whether it’s research, innovation, or an idea you’re passionate about. No lab experience required — just curiosity and creativity.

Why Should I Apply?
Students selected to compete will broaden their awareness in the field of biomedical engineering, attend cutting-edge keynote presentations, and bolster their collegiate applications with this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Participants will also have ample opportunities to connect with our conference attendees ranging from undergraduate students to postdocs, admissions directors at leading BME programs, and research and industry leaders.

Are There Any Incentives for Applying?
All students with accepted posters are eligible for a special discounted registration rate of $100 per student to attend the 2026 BMES Annual Meeting. Because participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, each student’s chaperone must also register separately and will receive a discounted registration rate of $100.
Student and chaperone registrations are separate, and each individual must complete their own registration.
Chaperone information must be included in the application.
The BMES 2026 High School Poster Expo is your chance to explore the field of biomedical engineering and share your ideas with a national community of scientists and innovators. Plus, you'll have access to select scientific sessions at the conference in Orlando on Saturday.
