Call for General Abstracts

You will use a separate website site to submit your abstract. 

• In order to submit, the presenting author and the submitting author must have a BMES member or non-member account to submit an abstract.

• Call for Abstract Submissions for General Abstracts, Specialty Tracks, and Special Sessions will open soon.

• For General Abstracts, there is a non-refundable abstract submission fee of $65 for each abstract submitted until June 1, 2026, and a $90 extended deadline submission fee from June 2 to until June 15, 2026.

  • The submission fee does not include your conference registration.

  • All presenting authors must register for the conference by August 3, 2026 through the BMES 2026 Annual Meeting registration website.

  • Presenting authors must attend the 2026 BMES Annual Meeting to present.

• Submissions do not require a full author list to be considered complete.

  • You will be able to access your abstract to make edits, including adding authors, until the general abstract submission deadline of June 1, 2026.

You will be asked to fill in text boxes to detail your introduction, materials & methods, results, conclusions & discussions. Any figures or images you have to support your abstract can be uploaded in a .jpg. jpeg. or .png format.  

During the submission process, you will be asked to complete sections of mandatory information with required word limits, including:

• Introduction - 50 (minimum) to 250 (maximum) words

• Materials and Methods - 50 (minimum) to 250 (maximum) words

• Results, Conclusions, and Discussions - 50 (minimum) to 350 (maximum) words

Any images, tables, or figures that support your work will need to be entered in a .jpg, .jpeg, or .png format (PDF files will not be accepted). Images/Tables/Figures are optional and not required.

Additional Information:

• Submissions do not require a full author list to be considered complete.

• You will be able to access your abstract to make edits including adding presenters and/or authors until the submission deadline. We will not accept any author changes after the deadline.

The initial deadline of June 1, 2026 will be extended from June 2 until June 15, 2026 for a $90 submission fee.

A secondary abstract submissions window for Late-breaking and Undergraduate Research will open in June 2025 and close August 3, 2026. Late-breaking submissions will only be eligible for a poster presentation. Undergraduate Research submissions will be eligible for a podium (oral) or poster presentation.

You can withdraw your submission but there are no refunds. 

All payments are final and non-refundable.
