The BMES Nominating Committee is happy to announce the opening of nominations for the prestigious positions of Board of Directors Secretary (two-year term beginning in October 2024) and four seats on the BMES Board of Directors (three-year terms beginning in October 2024).

The BMES Nominations Committee
QUALIFICATIONS FOR BMES BOARD MEMBER (ACADEMIA)
- Effective work in BMES, such as a track or session chair, committee member, abstract reviewer, etc.
- Cumulative BMES membership for 3 or more years.
- Attendance at 3 or more BMES Annual Meetings. Alternatively, attendance at 2+ BMES Annual Meetings PLUS one of the following:
- Demonstrable experience representing the field of BME in your profession. OR
- BME-related leadership role at your institution/company.
- Having the ability to attend two in-person meetings each year and to participate in at least three to five teleconferences and having time to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in large teams (20+) and be an effective communicator.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR BMES BOARD MEMBER (INDUSTRY)
- Effective work in BMES, such as a track or session chair, committee member, abstract reviewer, etc.
- Cumulative BMES membership for 2 or more years.
- Attendance at 2 or more BMES Annual Meetings. Alternatively, attendance at 1 BMES Annual Meeting PLUS one of the following:
- Demonstrable experience representing the field of BME in your profession. OR
- A BME-related leadership role at your institution/company.
- Having the ability to attend two in-person meetings each year and to participate in at least three to five teleconferences and having time to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in large teams (20+) and be an effective communicator.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR BMES BOARD MEMBER (SECRETARY)
- Effective service for a full term as a member of the BMES Board Directors (as of 10/2024)
- BMES membership for 5+ years (cumulative, not including student membership)
- Attendance at 5+ BMES Annual Meetings (cumulative)
- Having the ability to attend two in-person meetings each year, to participate in monthly Executive Committee teleconferences, and having time to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in large teams (20+) and be an effective communicator
