Biomedical Engineering Education Journal Reaches Two Major Milestones

The BMES Journal Biomedical Engineering Education (BIEE) has reached two important milestones that reflect the journal’s growing visibility, influence, and contribution to the biomedical engineering education community.

BIEE Accepted for Inclusion in Scopus

BIEE has officially been accepted for inclusion in Scopus, one of the world’s leading abstract and citation databases for peer-reviewed literature.

Inclusion in Scopus will make the journal’s articles more searchable and accessible to researchers, educators, institutions, and students around the world. While it may take several months for articles to begin appearing in the database, all previously published BIEE content will be indexed retroactively once the process is complete.

Acceptance into Scopus represents an important step toward broader recognition within the global research community and strengthens BIEE’s position as a trusted resource for scholarship in biomedical engineering education.

Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

BIEE has also been recognized through Springer Nature’s Sustainable Development Goals Program. More than 50% of the journal’s published articles have been identified as contributing to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with a particularly strong connection to SDG 4: Quality Education.
