This month, we commemorate the emancipation of slaves and reiterate our commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals who are members of BMES as well as those outside bioengineering and other engineering communities. We respect and celebrate the diversity of our members and are proud that our Diversity Committee is a large and active group within BMES. Our mission promotes “a collaborative and inclusive community to advance human health through education, discovery, and translation.” We seek health and wellness for all through engineering innovation. This occurs only through the contributions of diverse individuals working together toward this vision.
