AIMBE - The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., representing 50,000 individuals and the top medical and biological engineers. Its current vision is to provide leadership and advocacy in medical and biological engineering for the benefit of society.

Council of Chairs - The mission of the Council of Chairs is to build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally, and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions.

FASEB - BMES is a member of FASEB. Among other benefits, FASEB provides advocacy regarding federal funding for scientific research. FASEB is often sought out by legislators, federal agencies, journalists,  and other groups developing programs and policies affecting science.

NSBE - BMES and The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) have pledged to work together as strategic partners to advance the mutual goals of both organizations to provide the leadership within the bioengineering community to increase the number of BME engineering degrees awarded to blacks by 2025. BMES and NSBE have signed an MOU.
