Become BMES Annual Meeting Program Co-Chairs Extended Call for 2028 Chairs

Play an important role in shaping the premier biomedical engineering event of the year by nominating yourself or someone you think would serve as a great Co-Chair for the 2028 Annual Meeting (October 4-7) in Philadelphia.


To be eligible to serve as a Meeting Co-Chair, applicants must be:

  • Current BMES members. Students, postdoctoral fellows, and non-members are not eligible to serve in this role.

  • Applications must be submitted by a team of 2-3 members from different institutions or companies, each of whom must currently serve or have previously served as a BMES Annual Meeting Track Chair.

  • Teams must be comprised of 2-3 established leaders in the field who hold the rank of Associate Professor or higher, or an equivalent level of experience in teaching track faculty, industry or government.

Aortic Stenosis (AS) involves progressive fibrocalcific degeneration of the aortic valve. Current imaging methods for valve tissue quantification remain semi-automated and lack detailed spatial tissue characterization. We present a CT-based pipeline that fully automates the quantification of fibrotic and calcific components and enables semi-automated regional tissue analysis. Read More
