BMES-NSBE Travel Awards

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)-National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Travel Awards support NSBE student and NSBE professional members pursuing an educational pathway or career pathway in biomedical engineering. 
 
Application Requirements

  1. An essay, detailing how the 2019 BMES Annual Meeting will impact your career path. The essay must be no more than one page, minimum 10 point font, with 1-inch margins. The essay should address:

    a. How your educational or career pathway is relevant to biomedical engineering.

    b. The importance of attending the meeting at this stage in your education or career.

    c. How attending the meeting will impact your professional development. 

Award Eligibility
  1. Applicants must be an NSBE student member or NSBE professional member in good standing.
     
  2. Applicants must indicate an educational or career pathway that is relevant to biomedical engineering.

Award and Stipend
Award recipients will receive:

Students
•             complimentary registration to attend the BMES Annual Meeting
•             a travel expense stipend in the amount of $599 to attend the Annual Meeting
•             a one-year complimentary BMES student membership
 
Early Career and Professionals
•             complimentary registration to attend the BMES Annual Meeting
•             a travel expense stipend in the amount of $425 to attend the Annual Meeting
•             a one-year complimentary BMES professional membership

Award Submissions are due by May 15, 2019.
