FASEB produces webinar on how scientist can fight proposed NIH cuts

The Trump Administration fiscal year (FY) 2018 budget proposed deep cuts in funding for the federal science agencies. Congress is in the process of considering the President's request and the effects it will have on the country. FASEB hosted a webinar outlining ways that the scientific community could prevent the cuts proposed in the Trump budget.

FASEB Director of Legislative Affairs, Jennifer Zeitzer, and Senior Legislative Affairs Officer, Benjamin Krinsky, provided an overview of how the Trump budget would affect the different federal agencies and the scientific community at large.

They also provided tangible steps to take to safeguard existing funding such as meeting with local representatives and providing relevant information on how research impacts their district. The webinar emphasized the importance of advocate for an appropriations bill that includes increased funding for the sciences.
