Nearly 4,000 abstracts were submitted for the 2019 BMES Annual Meeting, including nearly 900 undergraduate submissions this month. We will have 19 tracks during the four-day meeting (Oct. 16-19).
This record number of abstracts ensures that the 2019 meeting will include the most diverse and cutting-edge scientific program ever at a BMES event. With just over eight weeks to go before BMES 2019, this a great time to start strategizing how you plan your days in Philadelphia. Attending talks completely outside of your area of study is not only a great way to learn about fascinating research, it can impact the way you approach your work in ways you can't even imagine.
The meeting is also a great way to network and make new connections within your expertise and beyond. A conversation at BMES meeting can lead to future collaborations, career support, and more.
A webinar: How to Make the Most of your Time at the 2019 BMES Annual Meeting, will be held Sept. 17 at 2 pm. Go to https://www.bmes.org/elearning for more information.
I encourage you to attend this year's meeting in Philadelphia. And make sure you register by September 4 to receive the early-bird discounts.
My colleagues and I are excited about this year's meeting and we look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.
