BMES member start-up company Nanovis wins technology award

Nanovis, a technology-driven company committed to helping surgeons and hospitals achieve fixation and infection outcomes using nanotechnology platforms, was named Best Nanotechnology Driven Implant Company, 2018 by Global Health & Pharma magazine.
BMES Fellow Thomas Webster is a founder of Nanovis. Webster is the department chair of chemical engineering at Northeastern University.

“[The award] validates the progress we've made towards our vision of discovering, licensing and launching the best spinal implant technologies for fixation and infection,” said Nanovis CEO Matt Hedrick.
Sales of the company's fixation technologies are increasing rapidly, and its next generation technologies are killing virulent and deadly antimicrobial resistant bacteria while still growing bone, Hedrick said.
