CONFERENCE REGISTRATION CATEGORY/RATE INFORMATION

BMES Members (all member-types): Discounted conference registration rates are offered as one of the many benefits of BMES membership. In order to qualify for a discounted BMES member registration rate, the registrant must be a BMES member in good standing (not expired) at the time of registration and their membership must remain current through April 1, 2020. BMES members must be logged into their account in order to gain access to the BMES member registration portals, and registration must be completed through a portal that corresponds with the registrant's member-type (e.g. an Early Career Member can only register using the Early Career Member registration link). If your membership is expired or is due to expire ahead of April 1, please renew your membership prior to beginning your registration -- expired members cannot register at the member rates.
 
Non-Members: This registration rate applies to non-student registrants that are not members of the Society, as well as inactive (expired) Members, Fellows and Early Career Members. 

Student Non-Members: 
This registration rate is available to student registrants that are not members of the Society, as well as inactive (expired) Student Members. To qualify for the Student Non-Member registration rate, you must be actively seeking a degree (undergraduate, graduate or doctoral) in Biomedical Engineering or a related science at the time of registration, and you must not be a current member of the Society.

BMES MEMBERS MUST BE LOGGED IN BEFORE PROCEEDING AND MUST BE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING (NOT EXPIRED) IN ORDER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE MEMBER REGISTRATION PORTALS. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOUR MEMBER-TYPE, OR IF YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR EXPIRATION DATE, THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE "MY PROFILE" PAGE OF YOUR ACCOUNT. IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN YOUR USERNAME OR PASSWORD, RETRIEVE YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION ONLINE USING THE EMAIL ADDRESS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR ACCOUNT. EXPIRED MEMBERS, NON-MEMBERS AND INDIVIDUALS THAT DO NOT HAVE A BMES MEMBERSHIP RECORD WHO OPT TO PROCEED WITHOUT JOINING/RENEWING THEIR MEMBERSHIP MUST REGISTER USING THE APPROPRIATE NON-MEMBER LINKS.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Requests for registration cancellation must be received by registrar@bmes.org in writing no later than March 3, 2020 in order for a refund to be processed.* Refund requests will not be honored after 03/03. Registrations purchased after 03/03 are 100% non-refundable. Phone cancellations are strictly prohibited, and cancellation requests sent via mail, fax or emailed to any inbox other than registrar@bmes.org will not be reviewed. All refunds are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Attendee substitutions are not permitted and meeting registrations cannot be transferred from one person to another. Membership dues payments are final and will not be refunded once processed.

*Non-attending (no-show) registrants will not be refunded unless they are unable to make it to the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. airline initiated flight cancellations; medical emergencies & injuries sustained by the registrant or direct relative; natural disasters; court/jury duty summons; military personnel deployment; death of an immediate family member). These registrants must submit reasonable verification of their inability to attend via email to registrar@bmes.org prior to the conclusion of the conference. Reasonable verification includes, but is not limited to, notice of flight cancellation provided by your airline; an injury report or physician’s note issued by a licensed practitioner; copy of your official court/jury duty summons; military orders; obituary, etc. Failure to submit this documentation and correspondence by C.O.B. on April 1, 2020 will result in 100% forfeiture of all registration fees paid, regardless of circumstances surrounding the absenteeism—no exceptions. 
 
Badge Policy
All parties attending or entering any portion of the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting must be registered for the full event. Name badges will be issued to each registered attendee on-site; Badges must remain visible at all times during ABioM SIG Annual Meeting proceedings and are non-transferrable. BMES reserves the right to confiscate any badge being worn by an individual other than the named attendee without refund, re-issuance or re-admittance into the conference. In the event that an attendee damages, loses or forgets their badge during the meeting, there will be a non-refundable $25 reprint fee assessed for each replacement badge issued.
 
Consent to Use of Image, Name and Other Likeness
By attending the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting or entering in the facility in which the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting takes place you agree that BMES and/or third parties authorized by BMES may photograph or record your likeness, image, name, voice, and/or words, and may publish, display, reproduce, copy and distribute your likeness, image, name, voice, and/or words for promotional, educational, or membership activities worldwide in all forms of media now known or later developed, including but not limited to advertising, training, websites, presentations and marketing materials. You further acknowledge that BMES and/or third parties authorized by BMES shall have the right, but not the obligation, to identify you in connection with such media by name and/or affiliation.
 
Use of Attendee Information
By registering for this event, you agree to receive reminder emails, important event updates, and other communications from BMES related to the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting. You also consent to us sharing some of the information collected during the registration process with sponsors and exhibitors of the 2020 ABioM SIG Annual Meeting (name, company, mailing address, email and job function). The sponsor or exhibitor may use this data to contact you after the conference or for other purposes that you agree to.

Payment Policies

Payment in full is required during the registration process; partial payments cannot be accepted. Registration fees can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or Check made payable in US dollars to BMES. WE DO NOT ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL CHECKS, WIRE TRANSFERS, ACH OR EFT PAYMENTS AT THIS TIME. If you are paying by check, please request a PDF version of the registration form from registrar@bmes.org; check payments must be submitted with a completed registration form. Checks received without a completed registration form for each attendee will not be processed and will be returned to sender without notice. Check payments must be dated, postmarked and received by BMES staff on or before the Advance registration cut-off date in order for the registrant to receive the applicable rate selected on their form -- Only registrations received with payment in full on or before 03/24 will be processed at the Advance rate.

THE PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS 03/24 AT 11:59PM (ET), AFTER WHICH ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED ON-SITE AT THE APPROPRIATE ON-SITE RATE. FORMS AND PAYMENTS SUBMITTED VIA MAIL, EMAIL OR FAX AFTER 03/24 WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. Check payments received beyond this date will not be applied towards an attendee's registration until after the meeting has concluded, and individuals without a registration record showing as paid in full prior to the meeting will be required to pay the entire cost of their registration on-site at the on-site rate.

Payment receipts and registration confirmations will be automatically sent to the registrant's email address on file. If additional copies of transaction receipts or invoices are needed for departmental records, please send your requests to karen@bmes.org or log into your account and visit the "My Receipts" link, located on the left hand side of your BMES profile page.
