FASEB produces webinar on how scientist can fight proposed NIH cuts

The Trump Administration fiscal year (FY) 2018 budget proposed deep cuts in funding for the federal science agencies. Congress is in the process of considering the President’s request and the effects it will have on the country. FASEB hosted a webinar outlining ways that the scientific community could prevent the cuts proposed in the Trump budget. 

Don Peterson named dean of the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology

The Northern Illinois University Board of Trustees appointed Donald Peterson to be the new dean of the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, the university announced.

Margulies named chair for Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University

Susan Margulies has been named the Wallace H. Coulter Chair of the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, and a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Injury Biomechanics, the universities announced today. Her appointments are effective August 1. 

Athanasiou's term as ABME Journal Editor in Chief to end January 2018

BMES has been fortunate to engage Kyriacos Athanasiou as the Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of Biomedical Engineering since 2010.  Kyriacos' tenure as Editor-in-Chief will end in January 2018, after the maximum two terms.
