BMES Student Affairs Committee (SAC) members are students, faculties and industry members representing more than 130 different chapters from around the country and abroad. It convene at the Student Chapter Development and Leadership Meeting every year in conjunction with BMES annual meetings. How you can make a difference
BMES offers several opportunities to volunteer. As a BMES volunteer you’re provided a rare opportunity to truly influence the future of BMES. It is an invitation to be part of this exclusive and innovative group of professionals. The results of your contribution are tangible and will not only assist shape the future of the society profession, but will provide you with great personal and professional satisfaction.
If you are willing to help maximize the power and performance of BMES, we encourage you to carefully select from the following opportunities:

What is expected of you? You should:
- Be a BMES Member
- Commit to participate actively in all scheduled committee meetings
- Attend and promote events related to the sections or committee purpose
- Notify staff when you unable to attend scheduled meetings and events
- Act as an ambassador for BMES in the Bioscience community
Terms o Service: Individual committee member terms run for two years (Ouctober through October) but can be renewed at the request of the committee chair for up to three years. Appointment to the committee reflects a major accomplishment for your career because any leadership assingments are based on individual knowledge, commitement, leadership skills, and experience and because of the limited available slots on this positions.
Time and Cost: All committee members are expected to attend at least two-thirds of the scheduled full committee and subcommittee meetings, if applicable. BMES does not cover travel costs for committee members. All committee members are expected to have content expertise and/or experience and to follow BMES Bylaws, Missions and Purpose.

After received your completed form, your name and information will be added to our database of potential volunteers, when an assignment comes along that looks like a good fit for you, we’ll contact you.
