"We are delighted to welcome the 15 newly elected Fellows of BMES," said Peppas. "They represent some of the most imaginative and distinguished biomedical engineers in the field. Their contributions have had a major impact in biomedical devices and processes, treatment of diseases, and all aspects of biomedical engineering that contribute to improvement of the quality of life of patients. I am particularly happy to welcome a number of leading academic and industrial administrators who have guided BME in the last 20 years."
The Biomedical Engineering Society serves as the lead society and professional home for biomedical engineering and bioengineering. BMES' annual meeting is the premiere scientific meeting for new medical devices and technology. BMES also publishes high-quality journals in the field that provide state-of-the-art information at the frontier of biomedical engineering and bioengineering.
