The skeleton of a live rat as imaged with MicroPET II, developed in the laboratory of Simon Cherry, Ph.D., and his colleagues at the University of California, Davis. MicroPET II produces images eight times sharper than its predecessor, promising new advances in the understanding and treatment of human disease through detailed, noninvasive studies in live animals.
